Discover The Shocking Reasons Why Countries Are Making A Fire Sprinkler Mandatory In Homes

Imagine what it would be like to wake up in the middle of the night and discover your bedroom billowing in smoke. Your hear screams from your children’s bedroom. You’re groggy having been woken from a deep sleep. The smoke is disorientating you. Panic is setting in as you realise what is happening and you race to find your children.

You reach their room to discover they are not in their beds. The smoke gets denser and you see flames creeping up the walls. Part of your brain is confused because you know you have smoke detectors and they should have alerted you to a possible fire.

This isn’t a true story… but it could be. Over 80% of all deaths occur in the home and they could be prevented by using a domestic fire sprinkler. There are no recorded cases of a fatality where a home has uses a fire sprinkler system.

Shockingly, in the UK alone, over 70 people die in homes with smoke detectors fitted. You might wonder how that could be. The most common reasons are a batter that has been removed (it goes off when you burn the toast) or the battery has gone dead is the prime reason. The other reason is poor location of the detector.

By comparison, a home fire sprinkler is on duty 24-hours a day. It is like having a fire-fighter in your home on constant duty. While 72% of fire victims die in the home, children are at particular high risk. Children fall into a deep sleep at night and often die of smoke inhalation without ever being aware of the fire. Often if they do wake up they will run and hide under the bed and in closets. The extra time spent finding them can often be the difference between life and death.

The power of the domestic fire sprinkler lies in the fact that it doesn’t false alarms and controls over 99% of all fires within minutes. There is no record of a fatality in a home fitted with a domestic fire sprinkler.

The life saving record of the home fire sprinkler is so compelling that countries all over the world are passing local laws making it mandatory to fit them in new homes. Some regions even make it mandatory to retro fit them into some buildings.

The critical difference between a fire sprinkler in the home and any other form of fire detection is this. A fire sprinkler controls the fire. Smoke alarms and fire alarms only detect the fire… they do not control it. You want to fire sprinkler which will control the fire. Your family and your property deserve to be protected using the 24-hour a day fire sprinkler system.

Does The Scarecrow Sprinkler System Work For Eliminating Garden Pests

If you have a garden or expensive landscape then you know full well how animal pests can destroy your hard work and efforts. In the old days people used scarecrows, noise makers, traps, and other deterrents to keep animals off their land, and some of these devices where less then humane. With the advance of technology there has been new deterrent devices designed such as the scarecrow sprinkler system. Before deciding on any new deterrent device it would be wise to investigate what it is and how it works, its effectiveness, and above all that it is humane to animals. It is the objective of this article to discuss the pros and con's of the scarecrow sprinkler system.

The scarecrow sprinkler system was developed by a company named Contech Electronics L/G. Contech claims that it designed this system to protect landscape, gardens, fish ponds, and other areas of land from animals such as deer, cats, dogs, raccoons, rabbits, gophers, possums, and even crows and other birds. The scarecrow sprinkler system is said to work similarly to the motion activated security lights around many people's homes by detecting heat and motion. When it sees an intruder, it instantly sprays the target with a 3 second burst of water under full garden hose pressure which is around 2 cups. The fact that this is an automated system, the detector will not know what is shooting at so keep pets and friends clear.

The scarecrow sprinkler system claims that it can see a 100 degree zone and protects an area 35 feet deep and 45 feet wide. Even if the animal bounds out of the way before getting wet, it will be scared and leave the area. Over time, intelligent animals like dogs, cats, and deer, will learn which areas are likely to scare them and no longer frequent them. Scarecrow Sprinkler is said to protect day and night for up to 6 months or 3000 activations on one 9 volt battery. The company claims that the scarecrow sprinkler can be set up easily with just a garden hose to guard a farm, lawn, or backyard and that no professional installation is required.

Animals that get on your land can ruin landscapes and gardens by nibbling on berries, smashing plants, digging holes, eating vegetables, defecating, or scratching outdoor furniture. If you have a fish pond with expensive fish then birds can also be a problem. If you have issues with animal pests you may lose patience over time and decide to take any action that works, often injuring or killing the pest. I beg you to reconsider this type of action as what you consider to be a pest may be somebody else's pet and even if not, a humane approach to animal control is always desired. Because the scarecrow sprinkler uses water with no chemicals and does not rely on ugly barriers or shock treatment, it is said to be completely safe for animals and people. It is said that the jet of water simply scares the target away without doing any physical injury. Of course if you have your own pets then it would be wise to keep them out of the area and let visitors know about your scarecrow system as getting blasted with a stream of water may not be harmful, it is sure to be irritating to guests, visitors, meter readers, and salespeople.

If you have a problem with animal pests tearing up your garden or landscape then you are looking for a solution. The scarecrow sprinkler is said to be humane, safe, and effective and although most companies trying to promote a product will say such things, reviews indicate that people have benefited from this device. As already stated, this system may cause problems with friends, neighbors, and pets who can accidentally get wet not to mention that you would need a great deal of water pressure to shoot a stream 45 feet in distance. While this system may work fine for small gardens or landscapes, it would seem that you would need to find a better solution for larger areas.

Install A Permanent, In-Ground Sprinkler System To Save Time And Water

Do you have a very large lawn or plan to plant a very large lawn? If you do, you probably want to consider installing a permanent, in-ground sprinkler system to relive the chore of watering your lawn. There are several advantages to installing a permanent, in-ground sprinkler system:

1. Full Automation

The permanent, in-ground sprinkler system can be hook up to a timer and your lawn will receive the water it need without your intervention. Simply set the timer to the time you want your lawn to receive water (usually in the morning) and you are done.

2. Even Distribution of Water

You decide where your sprinkler heads will be placed so that your lawn will be evenly watered without runoff. Of course, this requires some planning and you may want to engage a lawn care consultant to help you.

3. Save water

By connecting the permanent, in-ground sprinkler system to appropriate sensors, you can water your lawn only when it is necessary. For example, you can connect a soil moisture sensor and your permanent, in-ground sprinkler system will kick into action when it detect that there is not enough moisture in the soil.

You can also connect it to a rain sensor so that the permanent, in-ground sprinkler system will shut off automatically when it rains.

4. Flexibility

A permanent, in-ground sprinkler system gives you a lot of flexibility. You have full control on how much water to apply, when to apply water, which part of the lawn to water and the spray pattern that you want to use for watering your lawn.

After you have installed a permanent, in-ground sprinkler system, you still have to keep an eye on the system to ensure that it is working properly. You may have to adjust the timer according to the seasons or turn if off during the winter period.

Observe how your lawn is responding to the sprinkler system. If any part of your lawn start to dry out and die, there may be a clog in the sprinkler head in that area. If there is too much water in one part of your lawn, there may be a leakage in the sprinkler system.

You should also check the valve box to ensure it is not full of water. If it is, one of the valves is probably leaking and you need to fix it as soon as possible. This may be due to a broken gasket or worn washer.

It is not cheap to install a permanent, in-ground sprinkler system but consider the amount of time it can save you, this is one option that you should seriously take into consideration.
